The basic rules of andamento explained! There's a lot to andamento, but at the core are some rules or principles discerned from ancient mosaics that are equally applicable and relevant to contemporary work. I would argue they are crucial to achieving definition and clarity in mosaic work! In this LIVE online workshop you will learn the rules, the reasons for their being, and the basics of how to apply them.

This will be an interactive session, lasting 2 hours (no recording) with plenty of time for participants to ask questions and get clarifications as we go along, but it is a very short primer session, and there is no time for everyone to make samples. I recommend you take notes and make quick sketches during the session, and then practice on your own later on.

Andamento proficiency is a pre-requisite to my Andamento As Language workshop, which I am teaching in Albuquerque, NM in March, and some folks need a primer before that class, but this is open to anyone wanting to learn those principles. I am also teaching Andamento in Modern Mosaics at the Contemporary Mosaic Art CMA2 Conference in March (sold out!) and all of these principles will be covered more in-depth at that workshop, so if you are enrolled in that, there is no need for you to take this online version!
